Listening Circles of Inclusion via World Event Center – respectful, open, honest, healthy and sometimes uncomfortable conversations about racism, addressing discriminatory practices, policies, beliefs and attitudes within ourselves and within our Durham Region community and surrounding communities.  Everyone is welcome!

 

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKERS Allison Hector-Alexander, Director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with the Regional Municipality of Durham.  Allison will be speaking about Resilience and Reinvention.  

Allison Hector-Alexander is an equity and inclusion specialist with over 20 years experience of in creating and leading policy, program development, education and training in anti-racism, anti-oppression, allyship and equity.

Allison is the Director – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with the Regional Municipality of Durham where she has oversight for Accessibility, the Local Diversity and Immigration Program and Partnership, the Community Safety and Wellbeing plan and all Equity and Inclusion programs.

Sterling Lee is the Town of Ajax Ward 2, Regional Councilor and a member of the Durham Region Anti-Racism Taskforce – (https://www.durham.ca/en/regional-government/durham-region-anti-racism-taskforce.aspx)
